Our program is designed to support health and safety issues in the workplace, schools, public and private venues, and private residences by using trained canines to identify illegal contraband such as explosives, firearms, fireworks, narcotics, and alcoholic beverages. The use of detection canines is intended to provide a further deterrent to the possession, use, or sale of contraband. Our canines provide the same cost effective method now in use by industry and government worldwide.

We know from experience that contraband exists in all facets of our lives. In support of your policies and a drug-free and weapons-free environment, we must seek new approaches and methodologies that are efficient yet cost effective. Our program provides educators and employers with a proactive tool to minimize the potential of dangerous contraband on the property and substance abuse in schools and the workplace. We provide our clients with the ability and recourse to take action against and discipline students or employees who elect to ignore policy and the law by continuing the possession, use, or sale of contraband.

What better way to promote health and safety, as well as limit liability, by having regularly scheduled random inspections by trained canines. As educators, parents, psychologists, and law enforcement officials search for answers to continuing reports of escalating violence in our schools and businesses, we offer one of the most successful deterrent programs available. Contraband Detection Canine Services is your answer.

Contraband Detection Canine Services provides routine inspections of areas such as lockers, berthing areas, work stations, common areas, public venues, lockers, storage areas, warehouses, and parking lots. These inspections, often conducted randomly, ensure consistency as to areas inspected.

What is "Contraband" and what can our dogs find? Our canines are trained and certified to detect odors of the following contraband items:

  • Illegal Drugs: Typically include Marijuana, Opium, Heroin, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Methamphetamines.
  • Prescription Drug Abuse: Most commonly abused prescription and over-the-counter narcotic medications, their derivatives, or precursors thereof.

  • Alcohol: Specifically, Ethanol Alcohol commonly found in beer, wine, and drinking liquors.

  • Powders: Smokeless, black and flash powders typically found in ammunition, guns, fireworks, and many explosive devices.  Firearms--Whether clean or dirty, all firearms are contaminated by gunpowder.

Currently, we have two types of detector dogs. First, the Contraband Detector Dog (CDD). CDD's Cash and Chee are certified to detect illicit narcotics, alcoholic beverages, and firearms.  The very things that are prohibited in our schools and workplace. Our second type of dog is the Narcotic Detector Dog (NDD). NDD Sam is our newest acquisition.

Pricing and Value.  Of real concern to us are our clients' perception of pricing and service. What are you paying for? As you know, a service is an intangible item. When you solicit for a service you hope to receive certain results. We always strive to not only meet, but exceed your expectations. A service pays for itself. The real test should never be the price, but the value. Future and existing clients may view or download our fee schedule in the Client Area. Please call for access codes to this area.

Choosing a Canine Detection Firm. There are many articles written by top security and investigative professionals as well as experts in the various industries which they serve. We have condensed many of these articles, including several of our own for you to read. These include such titles as a Sample Drug and Alcohol Policy; Washington State Canine Search Law; and When Violence Comes to School. These articles and more may also be viewed in our  Client Area.

Summary. Canine detection programs are increasing in popularity. They are not only cost-effective and efficient, but the outcome of such inspections is infinitely credible. In fact, the validity of canine methodology has been proven in courts of law and withstood the ultimate test before the United States and nearly every State Supreme Court. Our canine program is openly presented and, thereby, helps to alleviate the fear, anxiety, and the “rotten company” stigma often associated with human, strip or pat-down searches.
